Group Financial Controller


A leading Global Law Firm are looking for a Group Financial Controller to join their offices in London.
The role is an active position within finance management and you will be responsible for all aspects of financial reporting and planning for the group.
You will be advising key stakeholders with decision making within the firm, whilst proactively forward planning for the Group reporting team for performance and delivery. There will also be interaction with the Heads of Systems on the direction of the firms technology.

Other duties will be in relation to Operations and Accounting. Some include:

  • Managing month end, year-end and audit
  • Group consolidation
  • Assisting with cash planning for the firm
  • Proving business analysis, commentary and investigation on IFRS issues
  • Managing annual forecast, budget and business plan
  • Delivering training on complex technical issues
  • Managing inter office process and settlement and driving change within this


In addition to these operational and accounting duties, you will be proactively seeking process improvements for inter office processes, global accounting policies and procedures as well as reporting and the use of finance systems.
You will have key interaction with the Group Finance Director and CFO, the managers globally and department Heads and Directors. Maintaining relationships with these key stakeholders and generally across the wider finance team is extremely important.
For this position you will be a minimum of ten years post qualified experience (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with excellent technical skills and previous significant experience in a global organisation. Knowledge of IFRS and practical assurance techniques would be essential. Both previous leadership experience and excellent communication skills is also incredibly important.
