Finance Business Partner

An international law firm is looking for a Finance Business Partner to join their team Finance in London. This role as a Financial Business Partner will be working closely with the business to provide assurance, performance improvement and pro-active financial support.

As the Finance Business Partner is responsible for annual planning and budgeting and quarterly reforecasting. The Finance Business Partner role will have some involvement in Business Partnering activities as you will be the link between Finance and global practice groups.

You will work pro-actively with PGMs, leadership teams and partners to provide financial expertise so strong communication skills for this role is key. You will also provide financial mentoring and training to newly promoted fee earners and new joiners. You will be responsible for providing support to ensure strategic business development client retention and increased client profitability.

Further responsibilities as the Financial Business Partner involve some Financial Analysis. You will enable the practice group to achieve objectives, make decisions and plan appropriately. You will prepare monthly finance MI with insightful commentary and analysis, monitor performance against long term strategic and short term operational plans and prepare half year financial review documents for firm and practice leaders. You will support practice groups in building business cases for required initiatives such as lateral hires, practice area and geographic expansion.

In addition, the Financial Business Partner has some commercial elements to the role. There will be some involvement with the commercial finance team in executing the firm's pricing strategy. You will work on client bids and proposals where finance can add value. You will also be support the commercial finance team in key client reviews for client relationship partners.

To be successful in applying for this Finance Business Manager role you will need to qualified (ACCA, ACA or CIMA) with a minimum of 5 years PQE. You will need extensive Finance Business Partnering experience with senior stakeholders within ideally a law firm, but within professional services is also adequate. Advanced excel skills and strong communication skills is key for this role.

You will have the ability to influence and challenge senior stakeholders where necessary and be able to continuously improve and support colleagues and business processes. Attention to detail is important and being a collaborative team player with a transparent and straight forward approach is highly desirable.
