Ambition search is working with a UK mid-market accountancy practice with close to 200 staff and 20 Partners based in the City of London. The firm has committed to extensive growth plans over the next 3-5 years and are seeking to recruit an experienced Chief Operating Officer / COO to help support the key internal stakeholders across the full operational suite. The role will report directly into the CEO and will become a key member of the firm's management board.

As part of the management team, you will have complete oversight of the firm's operations which will include driving change and taking ownership of legal, compliance, IT infrastructure / systems, project management, people and growth strategy.

Those with experience of operating as COO in a professional services environment, whether this be in a law firm, accountancy practice of consultancy will be strongly favoured, especially for firms of a similar size that have achieved sustainable and profitable growth.

This role will require a commercially minded professional with the ability to influence, lead and positively impact upon company wide strategic decisions and initiatives. You will be supporting the whole general practice to ensure the firm's meets its growth targets over the coming years. Stakeholder management and the ability to get involved in business planning, negotiations, partner recruitment and acquisition integration will all be key aspects to the success of this role.

To be considered, you will need to be able to demonstrate the ability to work in a collegiate environment for organisations that have both organically grown and scaled up through acquisition and affiliation. An understanding of how a professional services firm functions is also critical.
