US Tax Manager

US Tax Manager

This is not a volume‑driven compliance role.

A highly respected, specialist US tax advisory firm is seeking a US UK Tax Manager to join its growing London practice. Known for its deep technical expertise and personalised client service, the firm advises a sophisticated client base and offers an environment where quality, flexibility and autonomy genuinely come first.

This opportunity is ideal for a US UK tax professional who enjoys complex, interesting work and wants to move away from rigid structures and excessive hours without compromising on technical challenge or career progression.

The Opportunity

You will act as a trusted adviser to a portfolio of predominantly high‑net‑worth clients with US filing obligations, many of whom have complex international affairs. The firm's work is intellectually stimulating and tailored - not templated - with a strong emphasis on client understanding and problem‑solving.

You'll have real ownership of your clients, visibility within the business, and the chance to help shape how the firm continues to grow.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing a portfolio of US and UK tax clients, including high‑net‑worth individuals, entrepreneurs and internationally mobile professionals
  • Reviewing US individual tax returns and associated disclosures
  • Advising on issues such as foreign tax credits, treaty positions, expatriation, residency, and international reporting obligations
  • Acting as the primary point of contact for clients, building long‑term trusted relationships
  • Supporting and mentoring junior team members
  • Contributing to advisory projects and the continued development of the firm's offering

About You

  • Strong background in US personal tax, gained in practice or a specialist environment
  • Comfortable operating at Manager level with client‑facing responsibility
  • EA, CPA or equivalent qualification (or qualified by experience)
  • Technically confident yet pragmatic in your approach
  • Values high‑quality work, flexibility and a collaborative culture

Why This Role Stands Out

  • Specialist, advisory‑led practice with no audit distraction
  • Genuinely flexible working and a sustainable approach to hours
  • High‑quality, interesting clients rather than compliance churn
  • Flat structure with access to senior decision‑makers
  • Clear scope to grow with the firm as it continues to expand
