Tax Director - US Individual & Private Client Tax (Australia based, remote working arrangement)

Our client is a rapidly growing US tax advisory firm supporting internationally mobile individuals, founders and investors across Australia, New Zealand, the UK and Europe. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of a scaling US individual tax practice in Australia, with a clear mandate to drive growth, build market presence and shape the firm's private client offering. The business is investing heavily in AI and automation, enabling faster delivery, improved client experience and a more scalable tax model.

This is an opportunity for a commercially minded US tax leader to step into a high‑impact Tax Director role, acting as a senior face of the firm while working closely with the other senior members in other parts of the world.

The Role

You will lead the firm's US individual and private client tax offering in Australia, with a strong focus on business development and client origination alongside senior technical oversight.

Key responsibilities include:

• Driving business development through referrals, partnerships and inbound opportunities
• Acting as lead advisor to HNW and internationally mobile clients
• Expanding and shaping the private client service offering
• Leveraging significant AI investment to scale delivery and streamline compliance
• Providing high‑level advisory on complex US individual and cross‑border tax issues
• Working with the founders on growth strategy and market positioning

About You

• Strong background in US individual and cross‑border personal tax
• Demonstrated success in client development or revenue growth
• Confident, outward‑facing advisor with strong commercial instincts
• Interest in technology‑enabled tax delivery and innovation
• CPA (or equivalent) qualified
