US/UK Tax Senior Manager

US/UK Tax Senior Manager

An established and growing tax practice is looking for an experienced US/UK Tax Senior Manager to join its London team.

This is a strong opportunity for an experienced dual-handler looking to take ownership of a high-quality portfolio, work closely with senior stakeholders and play an increasingly influential role within the wider team.

The opportunity

You'll manage a varied portfolio of internationally mobile and internationally connected private clients, taking responsibility for both US and UK personal tax compliance and advisory work.

At Senior Manager level, the role offers plenty of autonomy and client contact. You'll act as a key point of contact for clients, oversee more complex matters and provide technical guidance to junior members of the team.

Alongside the day-to-day portfolio work, there will be scope to get involved in business development, team development and the continued growth of the US/UK offering.

What you'll be doing

  • Managing a portfolio of US/UK individual tax clients
  • Reviewing complex US and UK personal tax returns
  • Advising clients on cross-border tax matters and their US/UK reporting obligations
  • Managing client relationships and becoming a trusted adviser on more complex cases
  • Overseeing engagements from initial planning through to completion
  • Reviewing work and providing technical support to more junior colleagues
  • Coaching and developing members of the team
  • Working closely with colleagues across other tax and advisory areas
  • Supporting business development and identifying opportunities to grow existing client relationships
  • Contributing to the wider development and growth of the team

What they're looking for

You'll ideally have:

  • Significant experience working with US and UK personal tax
  • Strong technical knowledge across both jurisdictions
  • Experience managing a portfolio and complex client relationships
  • Previous experience reviewing work and developing junior team members
  • A relevant US and/or UK tax qualification, or equivalent experience
  • Strong communication skills and the confidence to build relationships with clients and internal stakeholders

Why consider it?

This would suit someone who enjoys the technical side of US/UK tax but also wants a role where they can have greater influence and visibility.

You'll have the opportunity to manage interesting cross-border clients, develop those relationships over the longer term and contribute to the direction and growth of the team.

There is also a clear focus on career development, making it particularly attractive for someone looking to establish themselves at Senior Manager level and continue progressing within a growing practice.
