Senior Partnership Accountant

NEW permanent Senior Partnership Accountant position at top international law firm, to work closely with the Head of Partnership Accounts on more complex matters.

As the Senior Partnership Accountant you will be allocated roughly 6 international offices which you will take responsibility for all their Partnership Accounts matters

These duties include:

  • Preparing cashflows for both lateral hires and leavers in each of the countries allocated and reviewing the financial aspects of the offer and leaving and terms letters.
  • Advising finance managers in each allocated country about distribution payments.
  • Sending annual profit and tax statements to partners in each of the offices.
  • Knowing about special arrangements that apply to partners in each of the offices.
  • Setting up and maintaining the year end models for two international offices
  • Answering partners questions

You will also be responsible for all aspects of the distribution cycle this will include the following:

  • Setting up the distribution model each year
  • Updating the distribution model with changes to profit points and profit allocated as required.
  • Calculating the amount of distribution to be paid by partner each time a distribution payment is paid
  • Advise finance managers and partners when a distribution payment is being made with the
  • assistance of other members of the team.
  • Post distribution journals.
  • Calculate the annual distributions budget.
  • Prepare distribution forecasts each
  • Responsible for clearing down partner undrawn balances at April from prior year

To be successful in your application for this Senior Partnership Accountant vacancy, an accountancy qualification is preferred as well as experience working in a finance function of a law firm or professional services firm in a similar position / working at a high level within partnership accounts. This person must be a team player and with good excel skills. The firm is open to new ideas and ways of doing things so someone who is able to improve current processes would be advantageous.

The firms head office is London however flexible working going forward will be offered - 50/50 split of WFH vs office based.
