Senior New Business Development Manager

We are working with a leading global Legal brand to bring someone in to work as a Senior Business Development Manager, with a primary focus of driving new business generation within target markets for the firm. The role is a brand-new position within the firm at an exciting time of their growth and development as a business. The role will sit within their alternative legal solutions arm of the firm, so not within the confines of the traditional partnership setup but with the added value of having that brand behind you.

The type of individual we are looking to engage would be someone who has a demonstrable track record of coordinating new business opportunities within the Legal or wider professional services market. With the ability to look strategically at certain markets and using their relationship building skills to forge new opportunities for the firm to build on. The role will be working across a range of sectors; however the business does have some target markets to explore, namely; Fintech and Alternative investments.

Key aspects of the role will include;

  • Researching and qualifying new business opportunities, then putting a coordinated plan of action in place to bring these revenue opportunities to the table. This will include working with other functions such as marketing and events to put together structured campaigns towards a targeted audience.
  • Be market facing and negotiating advantageous commercially viable business opportunities for the firm inline with the market objectives.
  • Presenting to external clients around the values of partnering with the business, you will need to be confident and articulate around how you coordinate and conduct these meetings.
  • Become a senior brand ambassador for the business, representing the firm within specific markets and at industry events.

The team operate in a collaborative manner so it is essential that you reflect this approach, the role whilst being new business focused is not an out and out 'sales role' so you will need to show clear experience of building long term client relationships in a corporate environment. Experience within a similar environment would be useful, but we are encouraging engagement from current Legal BD & CRM professionals who want to be more market facing and would also welcome interest from those operating within a large management consultancy/big 4.
