Revenue Manager

Opportunity to join top law firm as their Revenue Manager

Working closely with the firms CFO, you will be have management responsibility for eighteen other Finance staff. You will be responsible for all aspects of the firm's billing and credit control including the overseas offices.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Taking responsibility for the firm's Working Capital Management and driving forward initiatives to reduce the firm's lock-up. This will include the end-to-end billing process and credit control process.
  • Ensuring the team establish strong working relationships with all partners through regular review meetings to ensure that focus is maintained on timely billing and debt collection in order to meet agreed targets and billing timetables.
  • Being a member of the firm's Finance Committee, which meets fortnightly to review the firm's exposure and set credit limits for clients.
  • Ensuring that regular billing patterns, and where possible monthly billing cycles, are established taking care that any special billing arrangements are observed.
  • Ensuring use of the firm's e-billing hub is maximised and e-billing polices are adhered to.
  • Working with the firm's external debt collection agency to collect problematic debt.
  • Involvement in the firm's quarterly reporting routines, including reporting progress against the firm's strategic objectives and lock-up targets.
  • Setting charge out rates including leading the annual review process and review of historic rates.
  • All aspects of team management, including appraisals, recruitment and encouraging the team to develop within their roles.

Project work you will be involved in includes:

  • Reviewing the firms e-billing workflow
  • Review of the credit control module in Elite with the view of making recommendations about changes to the system or the implementation of an additional bolt on product.
  • Review of all processes related to working capital management including team structure and resource requirements.
  • The above project will also feed into a project currently being undertaken to review the firm's client and matter inception processes and information gathered through the client on boarding process.
  • Assistance with pricing with the intention of setting up a pricing team.
  • Assistance with a review of key client relationships and the profitability of clients and sectors.
  • Streamlining reports produced to assist with financial decisions related to lock up and financial management.

To be successful in your application you will need:

  • Previous law firm experience in a Senior Revenue/ Revenue Manager position.
  • Experience of Elite 3e would be advantageous
  • History of people / team management important
  • An ability to actively engage with the business
  • Be able to identify process improvements
