I am currently working exclusively with a leading international law firm in London that is looking to appoint an experienced
Legal Biller to join its Finance team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a billing professional seeking a varied role within a collaborative environment, where you'll work closely with fee earners, support teams and finance colleagues to ensure an efficient billing and revenue process.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with partners, fee earners and business support teams.
- Process invoice adjustments, write-offs, transfers and credit notes in line with internal procedures.
- Ensure billing records remain accurate and up to date across all matters.
- Produce and amend draft bills, ensuring compliance with client requirements and internal controls.
- Assist with month-end billing activities and support wider finance deadlines.
- Respond to billing enquiries and investigate issues, ensuring timely resolution.
- Monitor work in progress and support stakeholders in progressing matters to billing stage.
- Liaise with teams across Finance to ensure a smooth end-to-end billing process.
- Prepare management information and ad hoc billing reports when required.
- Review billing instructions and ensure invoicing is completed accurately and within agreed timescales.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to enhancements in billing processes.
- Provide assistance and cover for colleagues during periods of absence or increased workload.
- Maintain a high level of attention to detail when reviewing client and matter information.
- Take ownership of allocated billing tasks, ensuring deadlines are consistently met.
About You
- Previous legal billing experience gained within a law firm.
- Elite 3E experience is essential.
- Strong understanding of the billing lifecycle and revenue processes.
- Knowledge of VAT requirements and legal finance procedures.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the business.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Highly accurate with exceptional attention to detail.
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
- Proactive approach to problem solving and process improvement.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
