Business Development Manager - Technology, Media & Telecoms (TMT)
A highly regarded international law firm is seeking a Business Development Manager to support and help shape its Technology, Media & Telecoms (TMT) practice. This is a newly created role, reflecting sustained growth and continued investment across one of the firm's most strategically important sectors.
The position sits within a respected TMT group advising innovative, high‑growth and often market‑defining businesses across technology, digital platforms, media and communications. The team operates at the intersection of regulation, technology and commercial change, and this role will play a key part in supporting its next phase of growth.
This is an opportunity for someone who is motivated by ownership, influence and long‑term impact. Rather than stepping into a purely executional role, you will help shape how the practice approaches business development, working closely with senior stakeholders to drive sustainable growth.
Key responsibilities
Developing and delivering business development strategy aligned to the wider TMT group
Identifying client and sector growth opportunities, using market insight and commercial analysis
Acting as a trusted adviser to partners and senior lawyers on client development and positioning
Managing and supporting pitches, proposals and panel tenders
Analysing pipeline, revenue performance and BD activity to inform decision‑making
Collaborating with marketing and knowledge teams on campaigns, events and thought leadership
Strengthening the firm's profile across priority technology and digital markets
What's needed
This role would suit someone who enjoys working in a strategic, consultative BD position, with the confidence to operate at senior level.
Proven BD, commercial or client development experience gained within professional services
An interest in technology‑driven sectors and complex regulatory or advisory environments
Strong stakeholder management skills and commercial judgement
The ability to balance strategic thinking with practical delivery
A proactive, self‑directed approach and an appetite to shape and improve
