Business Development Manager - Germany

We are delighted to be partnering with a leading international law firm in the search for a Business Development Manager based in either Munich or Frankfurt. This strategic role offers the opportunity to drive growth across Germany, working closely with senior partners and key stakeholders to develop and execute business development initiatives across multiple practice areas. The position combines hands-on responsibility for client development, pitches, events, and market profile-raising with leadership of a junior BD professional, making it an excellent opportunity for an ambitious BD professional looking to make a tangible impact on the firm's growth strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute business development initiatives across multiple practice groups, driving client growth and market engagement across Germany.
  • Partner closely with senior leadership to develop and implement strategic business development and client account plans.
  • Manage the end-to-end pitch and proposal process, delivering compelling, high-quality submissions and presentations.
  • Oversee client events, thought leadership campaigns and profile-raising activities, supported by a dedicated Business Development Executive.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity and client opportunities, providing actionable insights to key stakeholders.
  • Drive cross-selling initiatives and collaborate with colleagues across international offices to identify and convert new business opportunities.

Experience Required

  • Proven BD & Marketing experience within a law firm or wider professional services environment.
  • Strong track record of delivering successful pitches, proposals and client development initiatives.
  • Fluent German and English language skills, with the ability to build relationships confidently with senior stakeholders.
  • Previous people management experience is advantageous but not essential; applications are welcomed from ambitious Senior Executives ready to take the next step.
