We are delighted to be supporting a well known Law firm to hire a Bid Manager in their growing London team. You will be operating as a respected and proactive internal consultant and project manager.
The Pursuits Manager will coach partners and others involved in winning new business in the art of developing competitive, commercial propositions and will be responsible for promoting quality of thinking and story telling that truly adds value to each pitch proposition, differentiates the firm from competitors and improves win rates.
Working in conjunction with the lead partner, you will manage selected strategic or high-value pursuits, including crafting the value proposition, managing the virtual global team and delivering high quality tailored submissions and presentations. You will work closely with global BD teams to prepare for new and renewal opportunities, motivating partners pre-tender and providing support during the pitch process with client knowledge and content drafting. You will also work with the Client Relationship Management team to ensure tender promises are embossed into client relationship plans and that the firm are in pole position in all known and anticipated pursuit opportunities that arise.
The successful applicant will be tasked with ensuring the effective adoption of and compliance with a best practice pursuit model and managing a central repository or pursuits library of information which can be accessed by other areas of the firm globally, proactively managing the information by constantly adding to and improving the knowledge base.
Managing and developing members of the Pursuits team and promoting a supportive, coaching environment that ensures market-leading talent acquisition and retention will constitute another important element of this challenging role.
To fulfil the requirements of the role, you will need to be very bright intellectually with strong experience of business development in a pursuits or sales role, preferably in the professional services sector, combined with a good understanding of best practice and a proven track record of winning new business through pitches and tenders.
