Bid Manager
We are delighted to be partnering with one of largest International Law firms in the world to support them on a new Bid Manager role. This role will be based in London (remote working to start) and is a permanent opportunity and will be working inthe firms successful pitch team.
You will be working alongside the other bid managers and Head of Client & New Business in leading the firm's most strategically important proposals and opportunistic approaches to target clients. Thsi will inlcude:
Winning strategically important pitches;
Obtaining and renewing panel appointments with major domestic and international organisations;
Advising on all aspects of the proposal process from deciding to tender through to the presentation and onboarding new client relationships in conjunction with client service team;
Management and reporting of tender debriefs undertaken in the previous twelve months, including summary of key themes, and recommendations for future bid / tender development;
Responsibility of the management and maintenance of pre-written bid material.
Key responsibilities:
-Advising on all aspects of the proposal process from deciding to tender through to the presentation and, sometimes, onboarding new client relationships.
-Project managing proposals from start to finish to ensure all key deadlines are met and partner confidence and trust is high.
-Advise partners on key commercial decisions regarding pricing strategy, rates and profitability.
-Commentating on trends in pitches/proposals.
-Managing and developing pitch statistics/the pitch database/pitch portal/Monday.com.
-Coaching on pitch presentation skills.
-Writing compelling and fresh copy for proposals.
-Liaising with international CMS BD and Practice Group & Sector BD colleagues.
-Responsible for delivering firm wide training on pitch best practice and inputting into development courses run generally for the fee earning community.
-Accompany fee earners to significant client meetings in support of proposals.
To be successful in this role you should have the following skills:
-Ability to interact credibly with senior level stakeholders.
-Excellent knowledge of how to win new work and develop winning proposals, ideally but not necessarily, gained in a -professional services firm.
-Excellent business and proposal writing skills.
