Recruiters 'can help those seeking tax jobs'

13 January 2010 16:38

Recruiters have an important role to play in helping those seeking employment, including people looking for tax jobs, it has been suggested.

According to Tom Hadley, director of external relations at the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC), such industry practitioners play a pivotal role.

He remarked: "There is growing recognition for the role that recruiters play on a daily basis in helping job-seekers access the right opportunities and helping businesses to source the right talent."

His comments were made following a roundtable discussion with employment minister Jim Knight, which focussed on practical measures for addressing youth unemployment.

The event provided the REC - a lobbying organisation that aims to raise standards in the industry - with a chance to disclose the initial findings from its Youth Employment Taskforce, which was launched in December.

Discussions at the meeting centred on the role of temporary and contract work, among other issues.
