Nomination period for inaugural IRP awards opens

18 August 2009 17:01

The nomination period for the first Institute of Recruitment Professionals (IRP) awards has been opened by the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC).

Winners will be picked from across 13 categories, designed to reward the most talented people at all levels throughout the recruitment industry.

Chief executive of the REC Kevin Green remarked that the awards ceremony provided the organisation with the perfect vehicle to praise those working to the highest standards in recruitment agencies in London and elsewhere in the country.

"To win one of these awards, the nominee has to be somebody totally dedicated to upholding professionalism," he said.

Launched in June by the REC, the IRP replaced the Individual Membership which had provided the awards for the past two years.

Among the categories for prizes are best newcomer, best candidate experience and best non-agency recruiter.

The REC recently welcomed a publication by HM Revenue and Customs regarding the wage legislation for temporary workers, following the organisation's calls for clarification on certain points.
