Access to finance review launched

People in
banking jobs are to give evidence alongside business representatives, academics, regional agencies and industry leaders for a review into access to finance.
The Rowlands Growth Capital Review, which has been launched today (Tuesday, June 16th), will look into credit conditions in the market and assess whether further government intervention is needed.
It is part of the New Industry, New Jobs strategy, developed by the government to support the UK out of recession.
Business secretary Lord Mandelson said: "Small businesses will play an important role in the recovery of the British economy.
"These businesses now have the opportunity to contribute to our thinking on the frameworks we will need to put in place for a competitive, thriving market."
Historical data suggests that small firms generally find the period immediately after a recession the most difficult to access finance in.
