Young workers 'should make most of opportunities available'

Making the most of opportunities available is the best way to secure employment during the recession, the Prince's Trust has said.
Paul Brown, director of marketing and communications at the charity, explained that all young people have "skills and talents" and need to be able to demonstrate these when the "right opportunities" emerge.
He added that although the number of choices for work is declining at the moment, there are many other options open to young people interested in boosting their career development.
"We would encourage young people to look across the range of jobs and training opportunities available and to take every opportunity to demonstrate their motivation and their eagerness to enter the market," Mr Brown advised.
"If you are knocked back once, or you are knocked back ten times, then you need to have the resilience and the persistence to keep seeking out work."
Most recent figures from the Office for National Statistics show that there were just under half a million job vacancies in the three months to April, including plenty for
risk jobs.
