CVs 'must be concise and relevant'
26 May 2009 13:06
Jobseekers have been advised to keep their CVs to the point and relevant to the position they are applying for.
Lesley Winterflood, head of recruitment at financial services firm KPMG, noted that her organisation looks at "succinct" and "correct" CVs.
She added that companies do not like to spend time going back to candidates and asking them for more information that could be related to the job.
"We don't want to read pages and pages of information. We are looking for a concise CV, bullet points, to the point, with an individual background of achievements," Ms Winterflood observed.
"So make sure that it's really succinct, that it's really targeted to that role, that it's clear and that it's correct."
KPMG employs more than 10,000 people in the UK and offers employment in various fields, including
tax jobs.
The company has 22 offices across Britain and is the largest integrated accounting firm in Europe, thanks to a merger with its German and Swiss operations.
